  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1/2 cup seafood stock or water
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

Melt Butter:

  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Be careful not to let it brown.

Sauté Garlic:

  • Once the butter is melted, add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.

Add Spices:

  • Stir in the Old Bay seasoning, cayenne pepper, paprika, black pepper, and salt. Let these spices toast in the butter for about 30 seconds to enhance their flavors.

Incorporate Liquids:

  • Pour in the seafood stock (or water) and lemon juice. Add the Worcestershire sauce. Stir well to combine all ingredients.

Simmer:

  • Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 5-7 minutes. This allows the flavors to meld together. Stir occasionally.

Taste and Adjust:

  • Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning if necessary. If you want it spicier, add more cayenne pepper; if you need more acidity, add a little more lemon juice.

Finish and Serve:

  • If using, sprinkle the chopped parsley over the sauce for a fresh touch right before serving. You can either pour this sauce directly over your boiled seafood or serve it on the side for dipping.
